A new device that is referred to as the iPad HD (3) has made its way in the product lists of accessories makers Griffin and Belkin. The website iDevice.ro claims that it has previously seen an iOS product with the exact same name and a display resolution of 2048 by 1536 pixels. Many rumors in the past couple of weeks claimed that the third-generation iPad will feature a ‘retina’ like display, MacRumors even says that it got its hands on one of these displays.
The inventory system of Griffin show a number of cases for the iPad HD, Michael Fonfara made the discovery and shared a screenshot via his Twitter account. According to Fonfara, the name also appears in the backend systems of Belkin, which is remarkable considering the fact that Belkin has created iPad cases in the past.
Meanwhile, the iPad HD keeps popping up on numerous website, at the beginning of February the site iDevice.ro was visited by a iPad HD with a resolution of 2048 by 1536 pixels, although this information could have been easily faked. According to iDevice the iPad HD started to visit the site since April 2011, which is highly unlikely that Apple will be this stupid.
Apple hasn’t officially release any information about the next-generation iPad. The company will show their new tablet for the first time on Wednesday at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
