The Samsung Galaxy S III is likely to be announced in the two months, and according to the rumors it will feature a 4.8”-display with a ‘Full-HD’ resolution. Samsung opted to develop its own quad-core processor the Exynos 1.5 GHz.
The website BGR has based its report on information that it has received from an anonymous source; they already posted some specifications of the latest high-end model of Samsung last weekend. According to the new information the Galaxy S III will make use of a quad-core Exynos processor that has a clock speed of 1.5 GHz. The Super-AMOLED display will have a screen size of 4.8”-inch, and could be the first Full-HD smartphone.
BGR previously reported that the smartphone would make use of a ceramic casing. The camera on the back would be a 8-megapixel camera, while the front camera is 2 megapixel. Samsung’s new flagship phone will also have support for 4G LTE and run on Android 4.0 also know as Ice Cream Sandwich, although it will likely make use of the Samsung Touchwiz-skin.Could this device be the iPhone 4S killer that is Samsung looking for? This is still hard to say because Samsung still hasn’t announced anything officially and BGR has been informed by unreliable sources in the best. The specifications are also things that we haven’t seen on other devices, like a ceramic casing and the Full-HD display. Previous rumors that surfaced on the web showed that a 1280 x 720 (720P) is more likely. The Samsung Exynos quad-core is expected to make its debut in 20123.
The Galaxy S III will become the new Android flagship phone of the Samsung. The previous versions of the Galaxy S line sold very well and the upcoming smartphone will be one of the main competitors of the iPhone.
