The team behind the Apple TV jailbreak, Seas0npass has just released an update that supports a tethered jailbreak on iOS 5. Thanks to the update, the jailbreaking tool now supports version 4.4 and version 4.4.1. With a tethered jailbreak, you can’t turn off your Apple TV.

Plugins that are created for the Apple TV are not working flawlessly on the new iOS 5. Alternative media players like XBMC and Plex are currently not working, so it important that you decide whether you need these tools or not. Other plugins like NitoTV, MediaPlayer, Last.FM and the Couch Surfer are already working on iOS 5.
