More rumors about Apple’s latest version of their mobile operating system iOS 5. According to a “reliable source” Apple will be releasing the eight beta version of iOS 5 next Friday. The Golden Master, which is the version that will almost be identical to the one shipped on devices is expected one week later on September 23.
Yesterday we reported that Apple will be sending out the final version of iOS 5 to their manufacturers in the week of September 23th to September 30th. They need the firmware to install them on the devices, after that the phone can be packaged and shipped to stores. Apple’s new iPhone will be shipped with the latest version of iOS as happened with the previous generation iPhones.
BGR has a pretty good track record when it comes the iOS releases. Besides the developer version of iOS, there is also a version for operators available, they are required to complete the acceptance test before October 5th. This test is needed, to be sure that functions like calling, texting and Internet are working out of the box.
It still remains uncertain whether Apple will release the next generation iPhone internationally or that it will first rollout the phone in the United States only.
